Summary: make install needs CONFIG_PREFIX, not PREFIX
Description:
With busybox-1.4.0:
The INSTALL file (and 'make help') imply that you can set the make
variable PREFIX when running "make install" to change the destination
directory.
However, this does not appear to be the case; instead, you have to set
CONFIG_PREFIX.
I guess either the Makefile or the documentation needs to be updated.
