refresh partition table

Greetings everyone. I'm doing some work with a hard drive within a
busybox based OS and if the partition table gets modified I'd like to
have it refreshed. Using other distro's I can issue the 'partprobe'
command and it does just that. The problem is, busybox uses mdev and it
appears as though 'partprobe' relies on udev. I checked the options
available to mdev, but see that it can only take one parameter (-s
during bootup). I don't want to reload the entire contents of /dev,
just the partition table for a drive. Anyone have any ideas on how to
accomplish this?

Thanks,
Dave
