Firmware loading problems with mdev

Hello,
I am trying to get a dvb-t usb stick running on a wdtv. My problem is
that the firmware won't load. Kernel is 2.6.15. Busybox version is
1.10. The firmware is placed at /lib/firmware as mdev is hardcoded to
load the firmware from there. I get following dmesg errors:
dvb_usb: No versions for exported symbols. Tainting kernel.
dvb-usb: found a 'WideView WT-220U PenType Receiver (Typhoon/Freecom)'
in cold state, will try to load a firmware
dvb-usb: did not find the firmware file. (dvb-usb-wt220u-fc03.fw)
Please see linux/Documentation/dvb/ for more details on
firmware-problems.
dvb-usb: WideView WT-220U PenType Receiver (Typhoon/Freecom) error
while loading driver (-2)
Does anyone have experience with firmware loading with mdev? Thanks
for any help.
