You reduced the depmod
logic to just dump "depends=xxx" strings for each module. If the things were
so simple BB would have depmod invented year 100 BC. Did you try to
use your generated
modprobe.conf to load something like a sound module? Did you succeed?

It's not the matter of size what I meant when posted depmod.awk. It's the
matter of "BB must have depmod, it's the only modutils tool which is still
missed". Noone wanted to port this black-box. I know the list has many much
more talented C-coders than I so let us think I just challenged them ^) You
picked up the glove so I think BB WILL have depmod soon. Done ^)
