I want to review patches which go into svn, but
I don't want to stall development and especially simple fixes
if for whatever reason I can't review them in time.

I think the following makes sense:

Submit patches to mailing list for review.

If you get no response from me for 1-2 days and no other
problems identified by other people on the list,
go ahead and commit it.
