Any thoughts on bug 1142?

Anyone have any thoughts on this bug:

I'm happy to test any fix anyone has.  I looked into and it seems like
the error handling is managed through the psuedo-exception handling in
ash.c.  Maybe the right kind of error handling is not being set up for
the "set" builtin function?  I think someone who understands how this
error handling works in BB ash can probably fix this quickly; I'm sure I
can figure it out but it might take a while to understand the uses and
capabilities of the exception stuff...
