Udhcpc problem

Hi all,
 
I am using BusyBox v1.00 (2005.08.15-23:44+0000) multi-call binary as part
of an embedded system based on the PXA270 processor.
Recently I have discovered a problem that has me baffled.
 
Up until a few days ago, no matter what dhcp server was used, I could
successfully obtain a lease.
I am now trying to use a Thomson Speedtouch 536 v6 Modem/Router and am
finding that the DHCPOFFER messages are being rejected.
I have also found that exactly the same thing happens with a Dynalink
RTA1320 modem/router.
Both of these units are based on Broadcom chips.
 
I am now at my wits end with this.
 
If anyone can offer any advice regarding a fix for this problem, I would be
forever grateful.
