Policy?
IIRC Rob want's to support 3.79.1 for his Redhat 5.3'ish image ;)

Serious. Slack ships plain release tarballs, other distros try to
incooperate fixes. You can't tell from the version alone how broken it
is anyway. It's just a guestimate.

As it stands, try not to break 3.79.1 as long as landley doesn't drop
that requirement. As the majority of people currently have 3.80-patched
or later, please check that you don't break 3.80-patched completely by
relying on eventual feature/bugfixes of 3.81.
