Installing applet links as softlinks

Hi all!

I'm currently trying to upgrade my old thinclients to the new Busybox
1.1.1 and enabled the option CONFIG_INSTALL_APPLET_SYMLINKS during the
make menuconfig process.

When I then copy the new busybox binary to the thinclient and do
"busybox --install", no symlinks are generated, instead only hardlinks
were created.

Did I misunderstand this configuration option or this behaviour not
expected?
