Can I hold off on these until after the release?  (Which should be this 
evening, I'm working on it...)  I've occasionally broken stuff on strange 
platforms juggling headers (glibc vs uclibc, 2.4 vs 2.6 kernel headers, etc) 
and this is now officially the last minute. :)

For 1.1.2 we've got some portability work lined up already (MacOS X), so this 
fits right in.
