There are several bugs in that version.  It's obsolete.  We shipped 1.00 a 
year ago (and since then, 1.01) as the new stable version.

That said, you probably want to take a look at this:

Generally when dealing with a version several years old, you can look at the 
"browse source" option on the busybox webpage and go through the change 
history to see what we did to it since then.
