[BusyBox] has BB's tar directory extraction been fixed yet?

  way back in 2004, i described a rather obvious glitch in tar here:

because of that one problem, i had to replace BB tar with a full
executable of gnu tar.  i'm not in front of my system at the moment to
test BB 1.00, but can anyone verify what the situation is with tar and
directory extraction?  i'd dearly love to ditch the 150K gnu tar
executable.
