Hi Steven, thanks for the information.

In version busybox-1.00-rc3, there seems to be no PTX* configuration
variables in config.h file (or any other .c/.h file).

However, config.h has,

#define CONFIG_FEATURE_DEVFS 1
#define CONFIG_FEATURE_DEVPTS 1

I do have the kernel configured for

	CONFIG_UNIX98_PTYS=y
	CONFIG_DEVFS_FS=y
	CONFIG_DEVFS_MOUNT=y

Still the same problem. Do I need to have some configuration file in
/etc ?

Regards
Shivappa
