[BusyBox] Could udhcpc detect link changes?

Hi,

is there a way to detect link changes of an ethernet interface from user space?

My kernel reports things like

eth0: status: link down.

and

eth0: status: link up, 100 Mbps Full Duplex, auto-negotiation complete.

Wouldn't it be nice to trigger a RENEW action in udhcpc when the cable is plugged in?
