Yes!

With "make PREFIX=path install", so it copied the necessary files and links 
into path/bin, path/sbin, path/usr/bin, and path/usr/sbin. Now you can use 
mkfs.jffs2 to create fs-image and flash it on your target system.
Then you boot your system, your kernel must support JFFS2!
