[BusyBox] pretty much out of ideas regarding my "mount" problem

at this point, i'm not sure what to try next to debug this
NFS-mount root filesystem issue.
at the moment, i've got a working configuration that combines a root
filesystem i got from elsewhere, and a 1.00-pre4 busybox, as long as i use
the separate binary "mount" executable that came with that root
filesystem. this configuration boots properly, and the NFS root
filesystem is mounted read-write, and everyone is happy.
all i have to do is remove that "mount" executable, and link
/sbin/mount -> ../bin/busybox to start getting the remount of
the root filesystem to fail.
in short, a binary executable for "mount" works fine, whereas using the
BB mount applet does not.
thoughts?
