[BusyBox] basic: archive??

hi list!

i've a basic problem, i can't extract the
archive distribution ;) i'm a really dumb?!.. the 
0.60.2 release not, nor
the daily cvs snapshot.. i always get:

stingray:~# tar xfz busybox-0.60.2.tar.gz
tar: Skipping to next header

gzip: stdin: unexpected end of file
tar: Child returned status 1
tar: Error exit delayed from previous errors

my tar version is 1.13.17, the distro is debian
potato r3 with 2.4.18 kernel.. i tried it on two
computers, a older p2 pro 300 and one p3 500, the
same problem on both ;-(

what do i make false?
thanks for helping out, i really need a busybox
binary!! ;-) (are there any precompiled bin's out
there?)
