If you look in the mailing list archive in January 2001 there is a thread
titles "choice for reserving buffers", that covers it.

Its a bit hard for me to draw conclusions as to what is best, its a little
over my head.

I remember there was one email where vodz went into a lot of detail, i
cant find that one though.
