[BusyBox] RO ramdisk w/ login

I am trying to create a read only ramdisk with login cap. and eth0 as
well.
I am unable to get login to work even though I have tried both busybox
login and the normal one with pam.
Also I am unable to get the eth0 to be seen so I can load libs.
Eventually this will be a sshd/ssh client appliance for our network
authenticating off a radius server using cryptocard.

Has anyone done this?
Where can I get docs and samples?
